Kornacki, Murphy, Ciattarelli, Sweeney, Kean join Wildstein on 77 WABC
Gov. Phil Murphy, Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli, Senate Speaker Steve Sweeney, Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean, Jr, and NBC News / MSNBC National Political Correspondent Steve Kornacki will join the host David Wildstein for the New Jersey Globe Power Hour on Talk Radio 77 WABC on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 4 p.m.
Murphy is seeking re-election for his second term as governor of New Jersey. If he wins, the former US ambassador to Germany will become the first outgoing Democrat in 44 years to win a second term.
But he will first have to overtake Ciattarelli, a former member of Parliament and businessman from Somerset County. Ciattarelli is a former Frankish owner and Chairman of the Board of Branchburg.
Sweeney is the longest-serving legislative leader in New Jersey history and has at least two years as Speaker of the Senate. He is widely seen as a potential candidate for the Democratic nomination for governor in 2025, either for a vacant seat – New Jersey term limits – or against Ciattarelli.
Kean leaves the legislature after 20 years – the last 13 as the state Senate Minority Leader – to focus on a candidacy for the United States House of Representatives in the 7th District of New Jersey. It came close to 1% of the ouster of Representative Tom Malinowski in 2020.
Kornacki began his journalism career as a political reporter for PoliticsNJ in 2002 and is now nationally recognized as the country’s top political data analyst. He now appears regularly on NBC Sports, where he has applied his analytical skills to Sunday Night Football, the Tokyo Olympics and the Kentucky Derby. But Kornacki has never lost his interest in New Jersey politics and knows every nook and cranny of the state.
Wildstein is the host of the New Jersey Globe.
