Tottenham launch new neon-tinged home kit for 2022-23

Tottenham Hotspur have released their new home kit for the 2022-23 season and as you’d expect there are certainly no surprises on the color front. Indeed, the shirt is the exact same shade of pristine Lilywhite as it has been for the past 124 years.

That said, the latest incarnation of Spurs’ famous stripe features several subtle features and adjustments, including a prominent semi-circular seam that crosses the chest and two-tone trim on the collars and cuffs.

Indeed, the kit is based on the “World Cup 2022” template that Nike used for the upcoming tournament in Qatar – a modern, form-fitting template designed to allow for more dynamic movement through wear-inspired panel cutouts base layer compression.

The gamer version also features a fine mesh of thin wire “ribs” knit into the fabric to allow it to follow their contours with maximum precision.

After superfluous decoration from any description was removed for last season’s Spurs ultra-plain shirt, the 2022-23 kit sees the return of the traditional navy trim and this time it’s been paired with a flash of contrast of yellow “Volt” – a garish neon hue that has cropped up regularly on the club’s second, third and training wear in recent years.

The inside of the collar and cuffs are also emblazoned with the word “Spurs” written multiple times in a variety of fonts, just in case you forget which shirt you’re wearing and need to surreptitiously check.

Interestingly, it would appear that the armband is reversible so can also be folded up and rolled up to reveal the neon yellow “Spurs” band underneath, which is a neat little feature.
